Why Mindfulness?

Many of us are living our lives out of sync to the natural flow of life.

We are either worried and fearing the future or either longing for or regretting our pasts, leaving us missing out on the truly extraordinary moments of everyday life.

We are stressed, tired and overwhelmed.

Mindfulness can help us to reclaim out innermost power resources to become more resilient, compassionate and present human beings……

Cannot express enough gratitude for the 100+ educators who traveled from school districts all across Long Island who came together for the day to dive deep into the experiential practice of mindfulness. Every time we go deeper into our own mindfulness practice we are serving others. And as educators, “We Teach Who We Are”, so why not better tend to our own hearts and minds in order to better serve the hearts and minds of the youth that we teach ❤️ - Debbie DeBetta

A big thanks to @Lynbrookteachercenter for sponsoring the day of professional development.

  • I recently took the eight week MBSR program with Debbie as a way to begin to integrate mindfulness meditation in a deeper way into my personal and professional life. Debbie brings passion, wealth of knowledge and personal commitment to MBSR and effectively conveys this in her teaching. Taking this MBSR program has helped me EXPERIENCE not just intellectually learn about the benefits of MBSR. The experience of carving out sacred time to just BE, to allow myself to simply LISTEN to what emerges from within has been invaluable. Among its many other health benefits, if you are looking to develop the ability to slow down and create space to tune into your intuitive self, I highly recommend MBSR.

Mindfulness

"Paying attention on purpose, in a particular way, non-judgmentally"

Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, Professor of Medicine Emeritus and creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness
Mindfulness means a "waking up" to the present moments of our lives, where the beauty, richness and our inherent power lies.
